Colophon

A serious case deserves a serious craft. Here is what this site is built from, and the decisions behind how it reads.

Technology

tnm.me is built with Next.js using the App Router and React Server Components, written in TypeScript, and styled with Tailwind CSS over a custom set of design tokens. Pages are statically rendered where possible for speed, and the site is delivered through a content delivery network. The result is a site that loads fast, works without heavy client-side JavaScript, and degrades gracefully.

Typography

The type system is built on three open-source families:

  • Source Serif 4, the display and reading serif. It carries the headlines, the pull quotes, and the long-form argument. A serious, contemporary text face for a serious case.
  • Inter, the interface sans-serif. Navigation, buttons, labels, and anything that needs to read cleanly at small sizes.
  • JetBrains Mono, the monospace voice. Kickers, breadcrumbs, data labels, and metadata, set in small caps with wide tracking to read like a dateline.

The editorial design system

The look is deliberately editorial: a cream-and-navy palette with a single accent red, a measured reading column, generous margins, and rules and small caps borrowed from print. Every page follows the same grammar: a header band with a breadcrumb, a kicker, a headline, and a standfirst, then the body in a constrained prose column. Color, type scale, spacing, and the light and dark themes are governed by a shared token layer so the system stays consistent as the site grows. The intent is a publication, not a brochure.

Imagery

Photography on this site combines the Texas Nationalist Movement’s own and commissioned images with Creative Commons–licensed photography from Wikimedia Commonsand similar sources, credited to their licenses where used. The Texas Nationalist Movement logo and wordmark are TNM’s own marks (see the Terms of Service for trademark details).

Accessibility and standards

The site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA, supports full keyboard navigation, honors reduced-motion preferences, and ships a light and a dark theme. See the Accessibility statement for the full commitment and how to report a barrier.
