Who we are

About the Texas Nationalist Movement

Founded in 2005 to make Texas a free and independent nation again. We are not done.

Our mission

To secure and protect the political, cultural and economic independence of the nation of Texas and to restore and protect a constitutional Republic and the inherent rights of the people of Texas.

Adopted in 2005 and unchanged since. The full mission and the work behind it.

What we do

Three lines of work, one objective. Inform every Texan, organize the support, and turn it into political outcomes.

Inform

We wrote the book on how Texas leaves. The weekly Texian Brief, the daily Texian Partisan, the TNM Academy, and the founder's TEXIT put the full historical, legal, and economic case in every Texan's hands.

Organize

257 officials and candidates on the Texas First Pledge, and Texans organizing county by county across all 254. The Texian Declaration, the legislative outreach, and the litigation pipeline are the political infrastructure of independence.

Act

The Texas Independence Referendum Act filed for a binding vote. The independence plank in the dominant party, three conventions running. HB 1056 passed into law. The 2026 primary ballot. The work becoming outcomes.

From our president

I have spent almost thirty years on a single question. Should the people of Texas govern themselves? I founded the Texas Nationalist Movement to answer it, and we have put that question to hundreds of thousands of Texans, sat for thousands of interviews, and carried the case for independence from the edge of the conversation into the center of it. We did not do that with slogans. We did it by being right on the facts and refusing to go away.

Texas would be better off as an independent nation. That is not a grievance and it is not a tantrum. It is a sober judgment about who is better suited to govern Texas, a federal government in Washington, D.C., or the people who actually live here. Everyone who shares that judgment has a home in this movement, whether you have been with us for fifteen years or fifteen minutes.

We are closer than we have ever been. There is a bill to put independence on the ballot, a plank in the platform of the dominant party in this state, and Texans organizing county by county across all 254 of them. What the movement needs now is you. Read the case, decide for yourself, and if you reach the conclusion we reached, stand up and be counted.
